Negatives Of Biotin

Biotin supplements in the form of biotin pills or any other form must only be consumed after consulting a physician or dietetic familiar with your medical history. While biotin does have many health benefits, it also has its fair share of negative health effects. Some of these adverse effects include:

  • Allergic Reaction: Many people have an allergic reaction to biotin vitamins, and the symptoms of such allergies could include rashes, nausea, swelling of the face and the throat. While these allergic reactions might not be that bad, things can escalate if left untreated for long.           
  • Acne: Biotin helps enhance the skin’s health, but there have been instances where biotin consumption has increased acne issues. Excessive biotin consumption can restrict the intake of vitamin B5, which is responsible for reducing acne. This means that excessive vitamin B7 will result in lower information about the pimple fighting vitamin B5, resulting in increased acne problems.
  • Upset Stomach: This is probably the weirdest side effect of biotin consumption. Experts suggest that excessive biotin consumption can result in different stomach issues, diarrhea, nausea, and even cramps. Hence it is highly recommended not to consume any sort of biotin supplementary, especially when going through any digestive problems.                

Should I Consume Biotin Supplements?

As you can see, there are both good and bad impacts of consuming biotin supplements. This makes it very important that people know this information before they start drinking it for any reason.
