Lee Daniels is one of the most influential members of the LGBTQ+ community in the entertainment industry to date. Over the course of his career, he has worked as a director, producer, writer, and actor in both film and television. Some of the most well-known projects he has worked on include Monster’s Ball, Precious, The Paperboy, The Butler, and the hit television shows Empire and Star.
However, despite all of his accolades and accomplishments, Daniels is only now able to try and actively pursue his long time goal of creating a film about a gay superhero. In a video posted on his Instagram page, Daniels proudly cooed, “Do you’ll remember maybe 10, 12 years ago, I said my dream was to make a gay superhero film?” “Dreams do come true, and I found my superhero. America, world, get ready.”
This gay superhero that Lee Daniels has been searching for is none other than social media star Dremon Cooper, otherwise known as Super Bitch (@hesosoutheast).
Super Bitch is an openly gay man who is a native to Washington D.C. He first started to make a name for himself by performing in the local LGBTQ+ ballroom scene, then transitioned into social media, posting content that eventually made him into the viral hit that he is today.
Super Bitch is well-known for his short skits filled with flamboyant, yet precise dance moves and acrobatics that he uses to portray a superhero persona in the D.C. area — it’s like he’s been training and auditioning for this role all along.
Long time fans of Super Bitch have been cheering for him to star in a movie. And now being paired with Lee Daniels, the two will surely make a hit that will forever change everyone’s image of what a superhero should be.
