Mega start Celine Dion partners with kids apparel company, nununu, to introduce the idea of gender-neutral kids clothing designs.
Celine Dion took on the revolutionary venture with nununu co-founders Iris Adler and Tali Michberg. CELINUNUNU launched in November of 2018 with a lighthearted, funny video that represents a cause important to the famous singer.
We here at KWIR Media reported on another kid clothing brand that has tackled the notion of genderless designs in our article Primary: The New Concept For Kids Clothing.
The idea behind CELINUNUNU is similar to Primary. The overall vision behind both brands is to provide kid clothing designs that don’t conform to any specified gender. There are no boy or girl categories on either website, therefore, no gender assignment to any article of clothing.
The designs themselves, however, are completely different looks. Celine Dion and her partners’ decided to go with a black and white theme rather than a burst of colors in their youthful clothing designs. The only colors other than the two primary colors are yellow, grey, silver, and blue.
Where CELINUNUNU voids in color they make up in style and print. The designs are heavy with stars; cross, triangle, circle, and square shapes; skulls; and alphabet prints. The style is a laid-back, lounging design with a somewhat rock and roll undertone and innovative flair.
There are skull beanies (hats) for babies and biker jackets, baggy pants, asymmetrical zip-up jackets, and ninja shirts for kids – just to name a few edgy designs. One of the most unique designs, the Alphabet Dress, resembles an oversized jacket.
The prices are on the high-end range for kids clothing. A baby’s onesie can run a buyer $46.00 and the high ticket item, the Leather Jacket, cost $290.00. The Alphabet Dress is at $74.00. And you can get a Star Blanket, A-Blanket, or an MD Skull Blanket for $77.00.
